On July 14, 2023, Symposium on High-quality Belt and Road Cooperation was held in Harbin City of Heilongjiang Province. Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong chaired the symposium. Members of the Advisory Council of the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation attending the Fifth Meeting of the Advisory Council in China, diplomatic envoys of relevant countries to China, representatives of the United Nations (UN) agencies in China, and responsible officials of international financial institutions, among others, attended the symposium.

Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong said in his remarks that the international cooperation on the Belt and Road Initiative has been through an extraordinary decade. Over the decade, the network of cooperative partners has been constantly improved, and practical cooperation has been actively advanced, boosting the common development of all countries. The Belt and Road Initiative has been raised from China's initiative and proposal into an international consensus and global action, becoming a global public good, and a vivid practice of solidarity and cooperation among developing countries to move towards modernization and build a human community with a shared future. China is ready to continuously join hands with all cooperative partners to advance high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, and make positive contributions to strengthening multilateralism, promoting world economic growth and implementing the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

All participating parties believed that the Belt and Road Initiative has carried forward the Silk Road spirit, advanced international cooperation, injected new impetus into the world economy, and created new space for global development cause. They expressed the hope that cooperative partners of the Belt and Road Initiative will continue to adhere to high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, continue to help developing countries build high-quality, sustainable and resilient infrastructure, promote global connectivity, and at the same time deeply tap the potential for cooperation in such fields as green development and digital economy, and help each country realize sustainable development.

All participating parties welcomed China to hold the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, and expected the forum to further strengthen the partnership of the Belt and Road cooperation.
