China and Germany Hold a New Round of Consultation on Arms Control and Nonproliferation

On February 21, 2019, Director-General of the Department of Arms Control of the Foreign Ministry Fu Cong held a new round of consultation on arms control and nonproliferation with Federal Government Commissioner for Disarmament and Arms Control Susanne Baumann of Germany in Beijing. Both sides exchanged in-depth views on the review process of the Treaty on the Non-proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty, accountability for chemical weapons use, and emerging technologies, as well as other issues of common concern in the areas of international arms control, disarmament and non-proliferation.
